homeinstead.com 5 Cathey @2014-11-26 I have spoken to a lot of caregivers who worked for this company especially in South Florida. The company advertises as a companion service. However, the caregivers claim they are very hands on with the patients. These caregivers have no training. In South Florida, you must be a licensed caregiver with at least 40 hours training for your HHA, a certificate in CPR, Alzheimer's, Domestic Violence, Assist. with Meds, HIV, Osha and have liability insurance. The agency is held to high standards with AHCA. Some companies are getting away with this. I have encouraged the caregivers to call the State wherever they may live and report them. Nobody should be touching an individual without the proper training. Hope this helps your case.... ASK FOR CREDENTIALS!
